Berkeley Breathed

This is a new author to me. The book "Mars needs Moms" was recommended to me by a co-worker. I bought the book on sale not thinking much about it. I read it this weekend and fell in love with the simple but lasting story. If you are a mother or have had a mother that you were ever annoyed with this is the story to catch. Read it to your children. We mother's are crowned for being nags but deep down all we want and wish for are happy well taken care of children. This story elaborates on this.

Shel Silverstein

An author that I loved as a child and read to my children today is Shel Silverstein. His poetry is unique, entertaining and funny. Our family favorite is the giving tree. This story is wonderful in values and morals. It tells of a boy and a tree and how the boy takes and takes and the tree gives and gives. Until one day the tree has nothing more to give for the boy to have what he wants. It relates to life in general in my eyes. We all take so much but how much to we truly give back?
